FMS Y Balance Test Online
Are you balanced?
The Y Balance Test Online Course teaches thoroughly the researched, yet easy way to quantify a person's motor control and demonstrate functional symmetry. The Y Balance Test allows us to quarter the body and look at how the core and each extremity function under bodyweight loads.

This information can be used to identify road blocks to a person's functional performance including measuring pre and post rehabilitation performance, improvement after performance enhancement programs, dynamic balance for fitness programs, and return to sport readiness.

This course begins by describing how the Y Balance Test Protocol was developed through years of research in injury prevention and identification of motor control changes that occur after injury.

The course then covers how to administer the Y Balance Test – Lower Quarter, followed by demonstrating how to perform the Y Balance Test - Upper Quarter

Next, the course describes the extensive research related to the Y Balance Test. Finally, the course wraps by suggesting tips for testing groups and providing videos for you to use as a resource.

Why YBT?
Asymmetries are a factor in increased injury risk.
How do we measure and quantify a person's motor control and functional symmetry? The Y Balance Test (YBT). YBT allows us to quarter the body – left versus right and upper versus lower body - to test how the core and each extremity function under bodyweight loads.
What is YBT?
Having control of your limbs requires a stable core.
The Y Balance Test was developed through years of research in injury prevention and identification of motor control changes that occur after injury. The YBT is a simple way to measure a person's motor control and demonstrate functional symmetry. The result? A map that identifies road blocks to a person's functional performance both in rehabilitation and performance worlds.
What's included
This online course includes access to over 45 minutes of video content and a downloadable manual. To check your understanding, you will also receive access to the YBT Online exam.
