Train like a golf pro. An avid golfer typically plays approximately 37 rounds per year and spends many more days practicing, so it is not surprising that the rate of injuries is on the rise. One recent study showed that during a two year period, 60 percent of golf professionals and 40 of amateurs suffered either a traumatic or over use injury while golfing–over 80 percent of the reported injuries were related to overuse.
The NASM Golf Fitness Specialist (GFS) was designed as a golf fitness and enhanced performance training program for personal trainers, coaches and other sports, health, and fitness professionals who want to work with both amateur and professional golfers to improve overall performance and reduce and/or alleviate common golf injuries.
